Canadian Government Grants & Contributions – British Columbia


Nuyumbalees cultural center is a society which has been committed to the Potlatch Collection and to the cultural Preservation and Revitalization of the Kwakwaka’wakw Language, Culture and Traditions through Cultural Education Programs.

The Harper Government Investment Corporation Nuyumbalees help to preserve and promote the language Liqwala and Kwakwaka’wakw.

“The Company and the Cultural Center Nuyumbalees are important resources for daily visitors, students, seniors and members of the community, said Minister Duncan. By investing in this project, our government is ensuring that Canada's cultural heritage is preserved through the registration of linguistic and cultural traditions of Liqwala and Kwakwaka 'wakw and that Canadians have access. “

The Government of Canada has invested a $48 000 government grant through the Museums Assistance Program of the department of Canada Heritage.
