Government of Canada invests in University du Quebec a Chicoutimi’s Centre d’Entrepreneuriat et d’Essaimage (CEE-UQAC)

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announced that University du Quebec a Chicoutimi’s Centre d’Entrepreneuriat et d’Essaimage (CEE-UQAC) has been granted financial assistance.
“Our government remains focused on jobs, economic growth and sustainable prosperity. This is evident in our ongoing support of organizations that, like the Centre d’Entrepreneuriat et d’Essaimage of University du Quebec a Chicoutimi, accompany enterprises in their efforts to become more competitive, which is a catalyst of economic growth,” said Minister Lebel.
The University du Quebec a Chicoutimi’s Centre d’Entrepreneuriat et d’Essaimage (CEE-UQAC) will be granted financial assistance in the form of a $10,275,000.

Government of Canada invests in British Columbia’s Norsat International Inc.

The Honourable Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Q.C., Associate Minister of National Defence and Member of Parliament for Delta-Richmond East, announced that the firm British Columbia’s Norsat Inc. will be granted financial assistance.
British Columbia’s Norsat Inc. is a major provider of broadband communications products for data transmission in remote and austere environments.
 “Job creation and economic growth remain our government’s top priorities, and we recognize that the manufacturing industry is more important than ever to our region’s long-term prosperity,” said Minister Findlay.
Norsat Inc. will be receiving financial assistance from the Government of Canada in the form of a $13.3 million repayable contribution.
“This repayable contribution will allow Norsat to broaden its research capacity and maintain its leadership position in the industry while fostering collaboration with university researchers.”

`Government of Canada invests in La Route des Mille et une Histoires Inc.

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announced that the organization La Route des Mille et une Histoires Inc. will be granted financial assistance.
“As this support for the development of La Route des Mille et une Histoires illustrates, the Government of Canada encourages projects that help diversify the economy of Quebec’s regions, in this case through tourism development,” said Minister Lebel.
 La Route des Mille et une Histoires Inc. is a non-profit organization. “The organization has created a stage show in which history, humor and fantasy come together to introduce the population and tourists to the rich history of the Maria-Chapdelaine RCM.”
The organization will be granted financial assistance from the Government of Canada in the form of a $166,500 non-repayable contribution.
La Route des Mille et une Histoires Inc. will use the financial assistance to purchase and build stage equipment that will raise its quality, and thus the reputation of its productions.
“Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadian care most about” their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and, of course, their personal financial security,” Minister Lebel concluded.

Government of Canada invests in the organization Les Loisirs Montcalm Inc.

G&B Fabrication Inc. modernizes operations with support from the Federal Government


The Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Associate Minister of National defence and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) (La Francophone) announced a federal investment in G&B Fabrication Inc. in Saint-Joseph-de-Madawaska.

 “Our government is focused on what matters to Canadians: job creation, economic growth and long term prosperity,” said Minister Valcourt. “That is why we are proud to invest in G&B Fabrication, a steadily growing company since its inception, which will continue to increase its productivity and improve the safety of its employees with the support of our government.”

“The investment of both the federal and provincial governments in our business will allow us to acquire equipments that will improve our productivity and the quality of our work.” said Bruno Levasseur, co-owner of G&B Fabrication. “The purchase of this new equipment will help us better satisfy our clientele, take on new projects and work more efficiently in a safer environment.

The Federal Government has invested more than $31, 000 repayable contributions through ACOA’s Business Development Program.
